Sunday: Worship
Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.
From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord God, as we gather together today, help us to worship in faith and trust. Speak to us through the words of the Bible, so that we would continue to grow in your grace. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.
Show me your paths and teach me to follow; guide me by your truth and instruct me. You keep me safe, and I always trust you. Please, Lord, remember, you have always been patient and kind. Forget each wrong I did when I was young. Show how truly kind you are and remember me. (CEV)
Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.
Child: How has God guided you in your life?
Child: Why does God forgive us for the things we do wrong?
Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.
Holy God, you love us so much. Thank you for forgiving us when we are wrong. Help us to know and to follow your ways so that our lives would give you glory. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
