Holy Family Time: December 25th

Sunday: Worship

Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gracious Lord God, we are so happy that Christmas is finally here! Thank you for bringing us together to study your Word on this most special day. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Listen: Pay close attention as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Psalm 22:9-10
You, Lord, brought me safely through birth, and you protected me when I was a baby at my mother’s breast. From the day I was born, I have been in your care, and from the time of my birth, you have been my God. (CEV)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: Babies are so small and fragile when they are first born. What are they able to do, and what can’t they do, when they newly born? How can we keep babies safe?

Child: What are some of the ways God cares for babies? What special things did you do for me when I was tiny and helpless?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Lord God, thank you for the best gift of all—your son, Jesus Christ. May we not forget that he is the reason we celebrate on this wonderful, exciting day. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May you be filled with joy this Christmas! Amen.
