Holy Family Time: September 17th

Sunday: Worship

Pray:  Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gracious Lord God, thank you for hearing our prayers. Show us the many ways you answer them, and strengthen our belief. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Listen: Pay close attention as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Psalm 13:3-4
Please listen, Lord God, and answer my prayers. Make my eyes sparkle again, or else I will fall into the sleep of death. My enemies will say, “Now we’ve won!” They will be greatly pleased when I am defeated. (CEV)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: The writer of this psalm is feeling down and upset. He asks God to “make my eyes sparkle again.” If you were writing a psalm, what would you ask God to do for you?

Child: In this psalm, the writer mentions his worry about his enemies. How does God help you with your worries?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Lord God, you promise to be there for us, no matter what we are going through. Thank you for working in our lives each day. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May you trust God with your deepest feelings. Amen.
