Holy Family Time: July 20th

Tuesday: Struggle

Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you …
in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord God, when we are weak, you are strong. When we feel helpless, you are our helper. By your Holy Spirit, give us confidence to trust in you. Remind us that even in the darkest time, we have nothing to fear, because you are with us. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Acts 14:8-10
In Lystra there was a man who had been born with crippled feet and had never been able to walk. The man was listening to Paul speak, when Paul saw that he had faith in Jesus and could be healed. So he looked straight at the man and shouted, “Stand up!” The man jumped up and started walking around.

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: Can you imagine how the crippled man felt before he met Paul? How did he feel after?

Child: What does it mean that the man “had faith in Jesus”? Who told the man about Jesus?

Affirm:  Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Lord God, we believe that you have the power to do all things. Help us to look to you when we are struggling or in pain. We put all our worries and fears into your hands, knowing that you care for us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May you always trust in the power of Jesus. Amen.
