Sunday: Worship
Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.
From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gracious Lord God, you do so much for us each day. Thank you for this special time, when we can join together as a family and come to know you better. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.
Psalm 107:31-32
You should praise the Lord for his love and for the wonderful things he does for all of us. Honor the Lord when you and your leaders meet to worship. (CEV)
Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.
Child: What are some of the wonderful things that God has done for you? Let’s each list five right now!
Child: What do you think it means to “honor” God when we meet to worship? How can we do that?
Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.
Lord God, we praise you for the many blessings you have given us. Thank you for our church family, and for the many teachers and leaders who care for us. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
