Wednesday: Mercy
Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.
From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Holy Father, you know our every need even before we speak it aloud. Calm our fears and give us the faith we need for the day, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.
Jesus came to them and said: "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth! … I will be with you always, even until the end of the world."
Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.
Child: What does Jesus mean when he talks about “authority” has been given to him? What is authority?
Child: Why is it important to remember that Jesus is always with us?
Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.
Lord God, you have given all the power heaven and earth to your Son Jesus. Help us to trust that your strength can see us through everything we face. Amen.
Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.
May you know that you are never alone; Jesus is with you. Amen.
