Saturday: Generosity
Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.
From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Mighty Lord, bless all who study your Word today. Be with us, and with people across the world, who want to know you better. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Listen: Pay close attention as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.
Revelation 12:11-12
Our people defeated Satan because of the blood of the Lamb and the message of God. They were willing to give up their lives. The heavens should rejoice, together with everyone who lives there. But pity the earth and the sea, because the devil was thrown down to the earth. He knows his time is short,
and he is very angry.” (CEV)
Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.
Child: Why don’t we have to be afraid, even when we hear about scary things? Who fights for us? What’s a short phrase we can say to remind ourselves of this?
Child: When someone you know is going through hard times, how might help them with the message of God? What could you say to encourage them?
Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.
Dear Lord, the heavens rejoice because you defeat evil, and fight for all that’s good. Watch over us here on earth, and help us to trust in you. We ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.
May you tell others that Jesus loves them! Amen.
