Friday: Trust

Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you …
in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord God, you teach us in the Bible that all people need Jesus. We thank you that you have given us this promise, so that we can believe. Lead us by your Holy Spirit to share this message with others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Acts 10:42-45
Peter said: “God told us to announce clearly to the people that Jesus is the one he has chosen to judge the living and the dead. 43 Every one of the prophets has said that all who have faith in Jesus will have their sins forgiven in his name.” While Peter was still speaking, the Holy Spirit took control of everyone who was listening. 45 Some Jewish followers of the Lord had come with Peter, and they were surprised that the Holy Spirit had been given to Gentiles. (CEV)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: Peter said that Jesus is the one who will judge all people in the end. Why is it a good thing that Jesus is our friend and we belong to him?

Child: What does it mean that Jesus forgives our sins?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your grace and mercy. Because you have claimed us and made us your own, we have nothing to fear, because we know that you will never let us go. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May God give you the faith to trust in him in all things. Amen
