Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.
From God to us, from death to life, from me to you …in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Almighty God, open our ears to hear your Word. When we face struggles and difficulties, help us to be problem solvers, so that we may live in peace with others, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.
Acts 6: 1-2
A lot of people were now becoming followers of the Lord. But some of the ones who spoke Greek started complaining about the ones who spoke Aramaic. They complained that the Greek-speaking widows were not given their share when the food supplies were handed out each day.
Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.
Child: What does it feel like when everyone in the same group are not treated fairly?
Child: Why would God want us to be fair in the way we treat others?
Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.
Loving God, you bring people together to take care of the needs of all persons. Help us to be instruments of your grace within the church, that no one would be left out and all would have what they need for the day. In Jesus’ holy name we pray. Amen.
Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.
May the Lord God bless you so that you might be a blessing to others. Amen.
