Sunday: Worship

Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you …
in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord God, as we gather together today, we praise and thanks you for all you have done for us. Speak to us through the words of the Bible, so that your Holy Spirit may be at work in our hearts. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Listen: Pay close attention as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Psalm 5:11
Let all who run to you for protection always sing joyful songs. Provide shelter for those who truly love you and let them rejoice. (CEV)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: What does it mean to "take shelter" in God? In what ways does God protect us in our everyday lives?

Child: What's your favorite hymn to sing? Why do we sing to God?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Lord God, in our times of need, we ask that you would help us know and trust that you are always there for us. Remind us of your love and protection throughout every day of our lives. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May the Lord bless you and keep you in all that you do. Amen.
