Sunday: Worship

Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gracious Lord God, thank you for this time of rest. Be with us now and help us to know you better. In the name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Listen: Pay close attention as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Psalm 91:13-14
You will overpower the strongest lions and the most deadly snakes. The Lord says, “If you love me and truly know who I am, I will rescue you and keep you safe.” (CEV)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: God wants us to know him. How can we do that? Who has God put into our lives to help keep us safe?

Child: Have you ever felt that God rescued you from something? When? What happened?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Lord God, we love you. Thank you for watching over us. May we always trust and depend on you, even (and especially) when times are tough. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May you love the Lord with all your heart, mind and strength. Amen.
