Sunday: Worship

Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gracious Lord God, pour out on us the gift of your Holy Spirit, so that we would experience your power and strength. Speak to us through your Word and in the teachings of the Bible, so that we would trust and believe in you every moment of the day, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Psalm 33:11-12
But what the Lord has planned will stand forever. His thoughts never change. 12 The Lord blesses each nation that worships only him. He blesses his chosen ones. (CEV)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: Have you ever been “chosen” to do or be something special?  How does it feel to be chosen?

Child: Why is it important for us to know and remember that we are chosen by God?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Holy Lord, you are great and mighty, and you alone are Eternal. Thank you for choosing us to be a part of your plans, and promising that we will be with you forever. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May you trust in the promise of Jesus, now and always. Amen.
