Saturday: Generosity

Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you … in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Loving Lord, you watch over us every day and protect us from harm.  Give us courage and strength that we may serve to help and protect all those you have entrusted to our care. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Listen: Listen carefully to this reminder from Luther’s Small Catechism.

God's will is done when he hinders and destroys every evil design and purpose of the devil, the world, and our sinful nature that would keep us from hallowing his name and prevent the coming of his kingdom.  (Luther's Small Catechism)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: God is our loving Father in heaven. Why does God want to keep us away from things that would hurt us?

Child: As a family, how can we help protect each other and help each other be safe?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Holy God, you have given us so many good gifts. One of the most special gifts you have given us is other people with whom we share our lives. Help us to look out for one another, so that we would experience your love through each other. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May God watch over you and keep you safe. Amen.
