Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.
From God to us, from death to life, from me to you …
in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord God, we know that you do your work through the people you have chosen – including us. Help us to be your tools, that your will would be done in our lives, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.
At the command of the Lord, 17 Ananias left and went into the house where Saul was staying. Ananias placed his hands on him and said, “Saul, the Lord Jesus has sent me. He is the same one who appeared to you along the road. He wants you to be able to see and to be filled with the Holy Spirit.” 18 Suddenly something like fish scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he could see. He got up and was baptized. 19 Then he ate and felt much better. (CEV)
Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.
Child: Ananias was a believer in Jesus. Why did Jesus send him to help Saul?
Child: Did Saul change himself? Or did some other power change him?
Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.
Heavenly Father, just as you sent Ananias to serve in the name of Jesus, give us your Holy Spirit, so that we would also have the power to serve you. Give us the courage to do as you command, and make us your instruments of healing. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.
May God bring you health and wholeness. Amen
