Saturday: Generosity

Pray: Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you …in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Almighty God, you have given us more blessings than we can ever count. Help us to hear your love through your Word this day, that we would trust you in all our joys and struggles, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Listen: Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Acts 2:44-45
All the Lord’s followers often met together, and they shared everything they had. They would sell their property and possessions and give the money to whoever needed it. (CEV)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: Do you ever find it hard to share what you have with other? Why or why not?

Child: What do you think was the reason the first Christians were able to share what they had with one another?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Holy God, you are so generous to us. All that we have comes from you. Encourage us to be generous to all whom we meet so that they might know your goodness and mercy. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

Go about your day being kind and generous to every one you meet. In the name of the Father and of the Son, + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
