Friday: Trust

Pray:  Begin by making the sign of the cross and calling upon God’s name.

From God to us, from death to life, from me to you …
in the name of the Father, and of the Son + and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Lord God, we have been marked with the sign of the cross and sealed with the Holy Spirit forever. We put our trust in you alone. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Listen:  Listen carefully as these verses from the Bible are read aloud.

Matthew 28:19-20
Jesus said: “Go to the people of all nations and make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teach them to do everything I have told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world.” (CEV)

Engage: Talk about the Bible by having parents respond to children’s questions.

Child: What is a disciple? How do we learn from Jesus and follow him?

Child: What is something new you learned about Jesus, and what it means to have faith?

Affirm: Pray for God to put his Word into action in your daily life.

Eternal God, you sent Jesus to us so that we would never be alone. Help us to learn from him and follow his teachings, by trusting in his promise every day. Amen.

Have each person in the family bless one another with these words.

May the Lord bless you with peace and hope as you put your trust in Him. Amen.
